My Guydster sense is tingling! As an oversized man-child, I prematurely shot my web all over the screen when I first saw the SpiderSense Suit. Using microphones to send and receive ultrasonic signals in a type of radar; the suit applies pressure to the skin, alerting the wearer of an incoming attacker. Created by Victor Mateevitsi of the University of Illinois, tests showed that 95% of the blindfolded test subjects were successfully able to detect oncoming “attackers”. The possibilities for this technology are great and not just for the crime fighters among us. Hopefully, I can buy one of these soon; my girlfriend tends to throw things when she’s excited and I need any edge I can get. News via www.engadget.com.
