Wiser’s Spiced Vanilla Whiskey

If you’re like us, you love to drink (responsibly). But how do you drink? Do you make cocktails, mixed drinks, or do you just throw the alcohol at the back of your throat and hope for the best? Well, however you choose to inebriate yourself, Wiser’s Spiced Vanilla Whiskey is a great choice for a night out. With notes of vanilla, caramelized toffee and raisins; Wiser’s Spiced goes down smooth without overpowering the whiskey taste with sweetness. For you number crunchers out there, don’t fret over loss of alcoholic content; the spiced actually has a higher alcohol percentage than the original. We recommend trying it straight or adding a little cherry whiskey and coke for a tasty little cocktail we like to call: “The Guydster”. $27.95 for a 750ml bottle. www.wisers.ca

Drink Guide: Best Rums Under $50

At Guydster, when we work, we work hard.  And when we party we party just as hard.  So when the weekend rolls around, what better way to reward yourself than spending time with friends and drinking some excellent, long-legged rum.  We recommend skipping white rums and going straight for the good stuff – the dark or spiced rums.  In addition to the classic rum and coke, we suggest trying rum with ginger ale – you might be surprised at what you’ve been missing.  Ginger ale allows more of the rum tones to reach your palate.  And don’t be a wuss and measure the amount of rum you pour in the glass, we recommend the free-pour technique.  Some of these rums are so good, you don’t even need mix.  Here are five tasty rums under $50 that we suggest for your liquor cabinet.
